I haven’t been on here in ages but I wanted to address something that a lot of my Lux fandom friends ask me about – fandom merch. A lot of you will have experienced the joy of walking into Hot Topic and walking out with a brand spanking new divergent shirt in your hand – the colours still bright and unfaded from the was and that ‘clothes store’ smell that you love oh-so-much permeating your senses. I’m sure you’ll also know the annoyance of having your non-fandom friends as you “what the heck does your shirt mean? It’s so random!” And maybe, a select lucky few of you will know the awesome feeling of wearing your fandom shirt and having someone give you “the nod” as they walk past in a sign of mutual fandom adorance…I mean, obsession.
So now that I’ve got you all drooling and reaching for your existent or non-existent fandom merch, I shall now address the issue I love oh-so-much.
“WHERE CAN I BUY LUX FANDOM MERCH?”
Well, the answer to that can be found on the internet, as everything can be nowadays. I’m telling you this from full experience because I have spent hours upon hours upon hours searching the net for the perfect Lux shirt with the perfect bargain and I figured that I should help my Luxen buddies also be as successful!\
FIRST STOP: THE LUXEN ARMY SHOP
So, the Luxen Arm is one of the fansites for the Lux Series – probably the most popular one. There are links to Jen’s page, there’s forums, interviews, fan fiction and, of course, the shop! The shop sells a variety of producs, from phone cases to T-shirts. Perhaps the most popular design is the one featuring Katy’s shirt’s quote “MY BLOG IS BETTER THAN YOUR VLOG”. I’ve had a couple of friends buy the shirts and so far no complaints!! This is an easy one-stop solution for your Luxen fan-merch needs!
SECOND STOP: HEBEL DESIGN
This second stop sells mind-blowing Lux jewellery. My most favourite product on here would have to be Katy’s Obsidian Necklace. Fashioned as a pendant with the option for added green crystals (Daemon’s eyes, anyone??), though this product might be quite expensive it is truly gorgeous (maybe send this to someone so they can get you a present, eh?). Hebel Design doesn’t just do Lux jewellery, it also has other series’ including Jen’s Covenant series, The Curse Workers Series, Modern Faerie Tales series and many, many more so go and check it out!
THIRD STOP: eBAY AND ETSY
I’m going to assume that you smart internet users don’t need links to these sites, but if you want comment and I’ll add links. If you’re anything like me and spend basically all your money on books, surprisingly you sometimes don’t have $50 lying around to spend on a necklace, especially if you have to add overseas shipping. There are always alternatives that may bring you similar products. I spent quite a while combing through thousands and thousands of necklaces on ebay and etsy until I found one I liked that was cheap enough for me to buy, plus shipping.
FOURTH STOP: DESIGN YOUR OWN
Unfortunately there aren’t any links for DIY Lux products but if you make one then let us know! I have a bit of experience with t-shirt designing and I promise you its very simple. Some of the more well known sites (like Zazzle ) will cost more but if you search “cheap t-shirt printing” or “design your own t-shirt” you should find some sites. I, personally, use photo editing apps to arrange my text and photos and then put them onto a shirt but fiddle around and see what you can find! For jewellery – head on down to your local arts shop and there should be some jewellery design stuff. Pick up some little green jewels, a chain that you like and a black stone. Make sure you have your arts-and-crafts glue and see what you make! Basically all 10 year old girls had at least one go at jewellery design, my opinion is that you’re never too old to start again!
I hope I’ve given you some ways to LUX up you’re life! Another thing that I did was to make a poster with the covers and some quotes and print it out – I think it looks great on my wall!
Have a very LUX day!
